About this calculator
The coefficient of variation expresses spread as a percentage of the mean, which lets you compare variability across datasets with totally different scales. A CV under 10 percent is tight, 10 to 30 is moderate, and above 30 is scattered.
Tip: never use CV when the mean can be zero or negative, the percentage stops making sense.
