🌍 Soil Amendment Calculator
Compost, lime or sand to add per bed size
About this calculator
The Soil Amendment Calculator doses compost, lime, or other amendments correctly. Enter bed area, current soil test values, and target values; it converts amendment recommendations — like pounds of lime per 100 square feet — into the exact amount for your bed. Guessing amendment rates is how gardens end up with locked-up nutrients.
Tip: apply lime in fall when possible — it needs months to react with soil, and spring applications often miss the growing season they were meant for.
