🍷 Alcohol Units

Units in beer, wine and spirits

About this calculator

A "standard drink" in Canada contains 13.6 grams of pure alcohol — roughly a 341 ml bottle of 5% beer, a 142 ml glass of 12% wine, or a 43 ml shot of 40% spirits. Enter what you're drinking and the calculator counts your standard drinks, shows the alcohol grams, and estimates the calorie load hiding in the glass.

Tip: mixed drinks and craft beers vary wildly — a 9% double IPA can hold two standard drinks in one can, so always check the label.
