⚖️ Fluid Balance
Total intake vs output and fluid balance status
About this calculator
The Fluid Balance calculator adds up everything going into and out of a patient over a set period. Enter all intake — IV fluids, oral fluids, feeds, blood products — and all output — urine, emesis, drains, stool, and estimated insensible losses. Intake minus output gives the net fluid balance, positive or negative, which guides decisions about hydration, diuretics, and fluid restriction. For educational purposes only — always verify with clinical protocols.
Tip: be consistent about what counts; unrecorded ice chips and IV flushes are the most common reasons a balance mysteriously drifts positive.
