๐ง Glasgow Coma Scale
GCS score from eye, verbal and motor responses
About this calculator
The Glasgow Coma Scale is the standard bedside tool for scoring consciousness in trauma and neuro patients. Score three responses: eye opening (1 to 4), verbal response (1 to 5), and motor response (1 to 6). The calculator sums them into a total from 3 to 15, with 8 or below generally indicating severe impairment and often prompting airway protection. For educational purposes only โ always verify with your facility's clinical protocols.
Tip: record each component separately (E4 V5 M6) rather than just the total, because two patients can share a score of 9 with very different clinical pictures.
